Save Tamils Movement is organizing a 'Vocal protest to condemn 20yrs sentence to journalist tissainayagam' in chennai on 12th sept. AT 10:30 am, T NAGAR, the speakers are predominantly Journalist's from mainstream media like IE, TOI, DC among others.

Tissainayagam, winner of Peter Makler Award, a senior journalist and
Sunday Times columnist in srilanka was sentenced to twenty-year
rigorous imprisonment by Colombo High Court under prevention of
terrorist act
- Lasantha
Wickrematunge, Editor of Sunday Leader daily, also a freelance reporter
for TIME was shot dead by unidentified men in January 2009.
- In the last two years alone, 18nos journalists were killed and over 35nos journalists have fled srilanka.
